Several children from the Barry Farm community will be able to hang their homemade stockings with care this holiday season.
The District of Columbia Housing Authority worked with the Barry Farm Resident Council, A&R Development, and Preservation of Affordable Housing to host a holiday party and luncheon on December 17 at the Barry Farm Recreation Center.
Children – and some parents – decorated stockings, created scrapbooks, enjoyed holiday music, and were paid a special visit from Santa himself. In addition, the guests enjoyed a full holiday meal.
A special thank you to volunteers Tammy Jones, Christine Carter, and Nella Peterson, as well as the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation for their help with the event.
