More than 50 children and their families splished and splashed throught the record-breaking heat wave a few weeks ago at Woodland Terrace's Water Fun Day.
DCHA and the community's resident council worked to bring four, giant, blow-up waterslides to the neighborhood. In addition to the 'Beat the Heat' activities, there was a barbecue and music to relax before the start of the school year.
To help the children return to school, DCHA and the Woodland Terrace Resident Council teamed up with Exodus House, MedStar, and the local masons' chapter for the annual fish fry. About 75 backpacks were distributed.
