The Resident Commissioners election has been postponed until Thursday, July 16th and Friday, July 17th to ensure that each resident has received candidate information in the mail. Polling locations remain the same.
This is the opportunity for you to select residents who will be representatives on the DCHA Board of Commissioners through 2018.
ALL residents ages 18 and older whose names are listed on the lease will be eligible to vote.
An Independent Third Party Monitor (ITPM) has been hired to oversee all details of the election to ensure quality and fairness. “Interest meetings” for communities were held in May of this year. During the interest meetings, the following information was reviewed:
- A Resident Commissioner’s duties and responsibilities
- Determining a candidate’s eligibility and certifying that candidate
- Applying to become a candidate
- Maintaining campaign ethics
- Dates of candidate forums where you can ask them questions
