The Earth Conservation Corps assisted residents in the James Creek community with planting flowers, shrubs, and trees in preparation for the upcoming Earth Day.
Residents learned about native plants and received helpful tips on plant maintenance and care during the recent event.
The Earth Conservation Corps is located nearby in the formerly abandoned U.S. Capitol Pump house in Southwest. The organization will be back at James Creek on Earth Day, April 22, as well as at Syphax Gardens, to continue the beautification efforts. There are plans for more plantings, mulching, and a community clean-up.
